NFD

Guess this band doesn't need any closer presentation. If you don't know of them (shame on you) you should check them out immediately. They play live on a regular basis and release records.

^Don't worry,I won't flame you. I saw NFD playing the tracks that were already mentioned here and also Celebrate!? I think it's just about having fun.You know,Pettit and Rippin have been playing these songs with McCoy and they know that most of people coming to their shows knows Neph classics so I don't see anything wrong about covering them.I'm not gonna judge whether they were performed well or not.It was just... nice. Besides, their own style is so similar to Fields so those songs simply fit to the set they play.Otherwise with Last Rites who play totally different music. Unfortunately they didn't give any live performance since 3 years or so...

I think playing The Neph tunes as an encore is a great idea. After all NFD wouldn't exist without The Nephilim link. Its why I and the vast majority of their fans got into NFD in the first place. If only Rubicon had done the same instead of trying to ignore their past.

Perhaps Hussey should play "Black planet" and "Marian" as encores on his current tour

Yeah, I can fully understand what you're both saying. There's obviously a gap in the market and if you can make a living doing it then why not? Mind you I think Rubicon did the right thing, after all they were effectively starting again and a great job they did of it also. Obviously a lot of Neph fans wanted FOTN II which they didn't get, NFD obviously spotted this and have capitalised on the idea by attempting to be FOTN II. Fair play, they've obviously impressed you guys

I like the fact that the Stourbridge rock cafe 2000 was advertising them as "NFD formerly Fields of the nephilim" and even had the new FOTN logo on the ad as well
They've changed it now but the rock cafe are very good at this sort of thing,I dragged myself across the black country a few years ago thinking I was going to see Hawkwind and ended up seeing Huw Lloyd Langton instead  .

Now thee gig is being advertised @ £10 a ticket...

We were told £5 for that date. What appeared on the website bore no relation to our discussions with the venue, so I'm pretty certain you'll be charged £5

Bit of a pain in the old rectum this business, think I'll go back to greyhounds

And me.
I shall be arguing on the door and demanding for The spiv to be summoned.
I mean a fiver is equivilent to 2 pints of Guinness. If Its a tenner each then Mrs Buttock will have to wait outside in the car *smoking*

Great photos (wished I'd been there) - thanks for posting them. I particularly like the one of Tony asleep on the job - or maybe, as he once confessed, he's just dreaming of the Brixton Academy!
