Melt (The Catching Of The Butterfly)

Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

Melt (The Catching Of The Butterfly)

Post by MintyTheCat » Wed Mar 06, 2019 9:50 pm

Hello all,

would anyone care to give their thoughts on the meanings that they've managed to infer from this Nefilim song?

Cheers.

As she crawls from my hands
Her eyes I think they've found me
Matter
Blood
Her features cease to be traced

Oh forgive me

Now have your place with god
Innocence can be hell
Of the perfumed and penetrated flesh
She's melting, melting away

Of the passions that see and destroy us
This subtle fire, the secret flame
Torture by desire
Transformation from flesh to spirit

Melting, just melt away

There's a stillness
Between the light and me
Nothing but dreams and decay
And the angel
Whose wounds are my lamentation
Oh just melt away

Hmm lyrics sounds like the tale of someone who had a disturbing nightmare about being a sexual preditor who wanted to just rape someone yet ended up murdering them.

I've read a lot of people say it is about the Nephilim myth of angels mating with human women. Being that the Nephilim were suppose to be giants, I can see how that might not go so well for the woman....

The core of Zoon, right in the middle of the tracklist.

The perpetrator stands still and gazes, amazed, at his prey, and as the song unravels it's impossible to distinguish the two.

"Innocence can be Hell" -- one of Carl's favorite lines by his own admission.

"Siamese Twins" thrown in a burning pit of damnation, where flames provide the only purification - in a loop slowing down but never standing still. Just barely.
