Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

Do you Invisible Goth mean the biggest ‘Load of bollocks’ as ‘Clear, courageous and daring’ or as ‘the biggest pile of crap’?

sorry I apologize just couldn’t resist

About The Devil's Rain being 'boring as feck' I confess I had not the patience and did not watch it at all. Movies for the trepanned –how I qualify them- about how to rule the world are not my cup of tea definitely but I shouldn’t say: what do I know since I haven’t watched it neither read the book?

Thomas what do you mean, don't you like the translation made?

But as Dawnrazor was asked about, here's the official lyrics from the Official Site (before they were removed under the redesign)

Image
Cutting razor sounding violin
Recalling Kuthru* Razor sin
We're watching Heaven
As the sun goes down
I watch the sun burst
it hits the ground
You've got to... Hark! Dawnrazor formed the crest and the star
Hark! Dawnrazor's form caressing the sky
Dawnrazor, Dawnrazor
Well How
Dawnrazor, Dawnrazor
Hark! Dawnrazor formed the crest and the star
Hark! Dawnrazor's form caressing the sky
Let's go
Only in Dreams Have i been lost before
Only in dreams Have i been cut before
Cutting razor Sound and Violin
Recalling Kuthru
Raise us in
Hark! Dawnrazor's formed the crest and the star
Hark! Dawnrazor's form caressing a scar
Hark! Dawnrazor's formed the crest and the star
Hark! Dark Angel's born, the rest of us die

*I assume Kuthru is another variant of Cthulhu, or other Sumerian thingummybob
 Kuthru => Cut through which matches well with (from wikipedia): "a crest is the point on a wave with the maximum value or upward displacement within a cycle. A trough is the opposite of a crest, so the minimum or lowest point in a cycle. " Since music is about playing with waves 8)

Dead To the World / From The Fire / Thirst - Fallen ( http://youtu.be/ODkt6naSOCA I uploaded these three songs without a break here)

****Dead to the World****

(FLESH!)
(Hold me...)
(not right now!)
(I shall get going!)
(I miss you)
(I'll always be with you)
(Breath....)

Control!
Reach Out!
Reborn!
Black out!

Suffocation of life, obsessive drive, for a thousand breathes the following nights
For grieve, to grieve alone, separation of our body, from our soul

To take, a leap of faith, no trying to go back
To take, a leap of faith, no trying to go back
To take, a leap of faith , no trying to go back
Lost in your soul, you're...
Dead to the world

(LIES!)
(LIES!)
(LIES!)

****From The Fire****

I Am certain
Of the way now
Like the Sun , Up so far above me
And I need no one, and I need nothing
I couldn't wait, I've been dead for so long

Help me, from the fire , from the liar
Take my hand, I know the way now
Help me, from the fire, on my way down
Nothing left, I can't forget about you.

I'll be here, waiting for you.
No more searching, for a way out
I'll be here....

Help me , from the fire , from the liar.
take my hand , I know the way now.
Help me, from the fire, on my down.
Nothing left , I can't forget about you.

I'll Be here...
I'll Be Here... (I'm Waiting for you)
I'll Be Here
I'll Be here... (I'm waiting for you)

Waited All my life !
Waited All my Life !
All my life (I'll be here)
All my life

Waiting for you... (life)
Waiting for you... (life)
Waiting for you... (life)

In the future
Remember now...
the way that you were.
So don't look down.

Wherever you go
as time goes round
you're only human.
remember now?

Flesh.

*****Thirst******

Flesh!

I'll Be here..
I'll Be Here..
I'll Be Here..
I'll Be Here..
(LIES!)

Gonna go where I belong...
Tomorrow we ain't never
Burning up and Carry on...

I've been waiting for you...
Been here waiting for you...
I've been waiting for you...

The Weak, can stay, no time for looking back
We choose, we mourn , we shall separate!

Cover your eyes, there's nothing left
I'm just hoping, to see you go...
Never again, that you're my friend, not for a moment....

Gonna go where I belong...
Tomorrow we ain't never
Burning up and Carry on...

Tomorrow , No more
No time to hallucinate

Gonna lead the future.
I've been waiting for you...
Gonna let it go, now....

Tomorrow, No more.
No time to hallucinate

With you, No more, the flesh incinerate
We choose, we mourn, We shall separate...

We shall separate!
Will edit more songs , so make suggestions on which song we should discuss and "Fix"
Giving a listenning from the You Tube link that you kindly provided, I've somewhat revisited the Fallen trilogy, well not From the Fire which i take as the perfect retranscription.
Here are my latest accomodations of the two other songs:

****Dead to the World****

I know how it is you feel lonely cold
Reach! I’ll always be with you

Control!
Recharge!
Reborn!
Black out!

Suffocation of life, our souls deprive for a thousand reigns a fortnight
Think it over or grieve a war, separation of body, from our soul
let’s turn your faith don’t turn your back
Lost to the outside?
Dead to the world?
(LIES!)
(LIES!)
(LIES!)

*****Thirst******

Flesh!

I'll Be here..
I'll Be Here..
I'll Be Here..
I'll Be Here..

(LIES!)

Gonna go where I belong
Tomorrow will end never
Burn it up and Carry on

I've been waiting for you (never!)
Been here waiting for you (never!)
I've been waiting for you

no more it’s dead, no time for looking back
We drill, we warn, we turn and separate!

Can’t realize / can’t read eyes,
there's nothing left
now just hold me till the end
Never again, nigger my friend, not for a moment....

Gonna go where I belong...
Tomorrow it ain't never
Burn it up and Carry on...
To lead the more/them all
in time hallucinate!

Gonna live for the future (never!)
I've been waiting for you (never!)
Gonna let it go now
To lead the more/them all
In time hallucinate!

I bleed no more
your flesh is separate
We drill, we warn, we turn and separate...
We turn and separate

Thats the biggest load of bollocks I've read on here for a lonnnggg time
Okay maybe not the WHOLE album, just the singles

Harmonica Man , is just a nice intro that sets the theme of the album

Slow Kill is about suicide, obviously.

Laura is about a woman who is on the edge of losing control of her sanity.

Preacher man is about that preacher that I talked about.

Volcane is about Jealousy and and a jealous how "He yearn, He Yearn" for a love of a woman who is probably taken by another man or seeing another man, or maybe cheating on him.

Vet for the insane is about a man's inner self trying to calm him yet in the same time killing his self esteem, like a split personality, Gollum!

Secrets is about Secrets , ha! , I'm guessing its about the untold secrets of the false preacher "I'll forgive you, If you follow me" , indicating an elusive lie, "Behind darkened door" and the "I've seen a man crawling" as in the people seeking his forgiveness.

Dust is really just Carl role playing as a Spaghetti Western cowboy badass, who makes Clint Eastwood look like a random thug

Reanimator is inspired by Reanimator by H.P Lovecraft , an author Carl have a deep bromance crush on

Power is explained by Carl as being a succubus draining the life out of her victim,....... but to me its about Carl shouting at Nod "Draining me from powerrrrr  " to put power back on because Nod was doing some crazy shit in the attic, which took the power out.

The Tower, is about a sheltered and shy woman , who is crying because she broke her flower pot by accidentally pushing it out of her window, maybe its Rapunzel.

Blue Water is what happens after Preacher man, him scared of death.

Dawnrazor i have no bloody idea.

the immature twat in me laughed at the "Nigger my friend" part , however I do hear the "(Never!)" part, I am surprised I've not heard before, I'll add it to the original post.

also I did look that up, apparently whoever wrote that got it mixed up with this song

BTW I remember an old interview when, asked why they never wrote love songs, Carlos answered that "Power" was about a women raped by a supernatural entity, so it could be a sort of love song… Considering his cinephilia, I took it to be based on the movie "Entity", which tells just that, or the (Cough cough) so-called "real" story that inspired it…

D'you mind if I I add my 2p worth re Slow Kill lyrics? :D

While Pullus Pardus has done a good job I'd like to share what I hear.
I've copied Pullus' work and put my version in brackets alongside. Would love to hear your comments.

SLOW KILL

Don't Cry on the bridge of starving
So cold for this night
Up here on the bridge of life. (Up here on the bridge at night)
Forsake me or Listen.. (forsake me, but listen)

Slow...
Slow...
Slowly, for what?

Up here on the bridge of Life (Up here on the bridge at night)
To fall would be so nice.

Wish this misery out of this town. (I wish this misery on this town)
bury my face into its ground
Now Jump.
Now Jump.
J-J-J-J-Jump!

In her smile, Mesmerize (Vacant smile, mesmerised)
She watches you Up. (she wants you)
She wants you.

Up here I can see for miles.
Judging (.....??), by the sights. (judging flies by their size)
I'm up here 'cause I wanted to die.
Well i'm here like a dying messiah (All I hear "Like a dying messiah")
I'm up here 'cause I wanted to die
Well I'm here, I lie here (All I hear, all I hear)

Wish this misery out of this town (I wish this misery on this town)
Bury my face into the ground. (Bury my face into its ground)
Now Jump.
Now Jump
J-J-J-J-Jump!

(Jump)

Don't Cry!
Don't Cry, Now.
Don't Cry!
Don't Cry, now.

Don't Cry...

Now Jump.
Now Jump
J-J-J-J-Jump!

(Bury my face into this ground)
(Jump)
It's only a game,
We're only here to dream.

I've found a videos of this song live awhile ago, here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhkKS8KY2fU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p1f-c9ntug

I think you are correct about "But listen" "Bridge of Night" and "Vacant smile" as well as "She wants you" you can clearly hear him say "She wants you up! , She wants you"

Thanks I'll correct them =]

What does "Judging flies by their size" means? haha , I imagine a fly buzzing "Size doesn't matter!"

Thanks for replying.
Re the She wants you bit, I've listened to it many times on album as well as live version and, while I hear the bit you refer to I've always thought it was just Carl saying "she wants you-ah" What I mean is that while I hear the vowel sound I can't hear a p to complete the word. This seems evident on Dance on the Volcane at 2.43 mins.

Re the flies,
Up here I can see for miles (so he is very high, and the people down below are tiny, like flies).
They are judging him, as people do - gossiping while they watch the spectacle etc
This is why I think it's: All I hear "Like a Dying Messiah" , because the tone of the rest of the song doesn't suggest that's an epithet he gives himself, all he went up there to do is die. This sounds pretty clear to me on Dance on the Volcane at around 3.00 mins. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNwnIGAvEDE

TBH for about 20 years I used to sing along with "Up here like a dying messiah" until one day I realised I couldn't actually hear "up here". Cue borrowing *whistle* my son's wonderful Denon headphones to try to work out what I did hear.
And sometimes I still hear: Like a Dying Masala :D . Curry anyone?
It's only a game,
We're only here to dream.

Most sites have Pazazu from Zoon saying :

Sure, obviously er.. or audiously rather :D

The lyrics of Fields of the Nephilim are made of bird language and as such they're a formidable communication medium. 8)

Power is explained by Carl as being a succubus draining the life out of her victim,....... but to me its about Carl shouting at Nod "Draining me from powerrrrr  " to put power back on because Nod was doing some crazy shit in the attic, which took the power out.

I think its about an incubus / succubus , and Carl's fantasy of being a sex demon.
So conflicting stories?? Well I guess it could go both ways eh? An incubus and succubus doing battle? It has the makings of a good story.

I don't know about the whole entity thing though. I've been waiting for years for my poltergeist to get his grove on but all he does is throw shit. Perhaps he can see Alice but has no Cialis. Now that must be frustrating as all hell. Well he certainly doesn't have a projectile disfunction. Just very bad aim. Perhaps I'm not sitting in the right spot...

anyone know where this elusive interview can be found to put that debate to rest?
