Listening to that recording with bad quality of sound of Last Exit for the lost from another room I'm surprised by the ringing bells effect if has and I imagine it's acoustic live with guitar, diatonic acordion, double bass with bow, hapsichord, oboe (chalamie...). It could give quite an interesting song.

ah yes it could make a great acoustic cover with those instruments. A hurdy gurdy or an east indian instrument called a shruti box would work very well for the droning tones.
