In Case of Fire (crap name for a band I know...) "This Time we Stand"
Kinda like TOOL gone a bit Emo.... or a bit Emo gone all Tool. Whatever, I rather like it! Some rather fabby guitar and bass work, and rather good vocals too.

Those White lies chappies, that seem to be flavour of the week this week. The single is pretty damn ace but the album is pretty much what you'd expect and very much nothing we haven't heard before when it comes to modern bands trying to recreate the 80's indie sound(Interpol, Editors etc) but the singer sounds scarily like Julian Cope.

actually no , my bassist almost bought one, we saw in a local shop.Lord Mureth wrote:A TWELVE STRING BASS? Bugger me, I bet that's a right bastard to play...!!!
its set up the way a traditional twelve string guitar is -in sets- in this case 4 sets of 3 with gradient string diameters in the sets, producing a thick multi-octave sound. The same thing you would get if a Octavia pedal pitch transposer/shifter effect were used.

but many instruments have more than your standard, 7 srtings have been around in classical and Jazz for a long time actually, Rusty Cooley has been using 8 & 9 stringed ones, there are 12 string guitars that have all SEPARATE stings though as well.

I own a 7S -init purdy?
but I want an 8S.

I know most people tune these with 2 extra low strings , but why step on the bass even more and reduce your tone range? I like having the extra low I want an extra high as well. But really I mainly use 6s . the thicker neck of the 7 hurts my hand. I mean you only get 12 damn notes anyway repeated over and over . high low its all the same damn thing

And I love Leonard Nimoy even more! Maybe we should ask Shatner and Nimoy to do some Neph covers? They are quite approachable, those ST folks, and they seem not to mind contributing to random wierdness:
