Enlightenment needed for 'The Intro' song on Moonchild Tour

Post by Sumerian Memory » Thu Feb 05, 2015 3:11 am

Enlightenment needed for accurate details for what was the name of 'The Intro' song on The "Moonchild" Tour etc...
What is it and where can it be found? Any help would be much appreciated!

The tour to support the single release was called 'The Mark of the Watchman'. Google the term and I think you can find a tour poster with the dates and title - it has the Julian Calverley Moonchild face and the two cowboys.

I have a recording of it I believe. Trumpets and drums, some male chanting and shrieking women? Not Nephilim!

Big Thx for the info. The recording sounds real shite lol. You must be a Über Hardcore Fan to have it!

I thought it was called The Moonchild Tour, as you call it The Mark Of The Watchman.
I will check, yet wondering if there was another later tour called Moonchild...

Hopefully there will be a setlist for it somewhere, once I have found a tour poster etc.
For the name reason, it is hidden deep in the ranks of google. Many thanks again Bro!

There was no tour named 'Moonchild'. The subsequent tour, in Sept '88, was the 'Precious to the Lost Tour'. It supported the release of 'The Nephilim' album.

Check out Ande's gigography here: http://www.fieldsofthenephilim.com/arch ... raphy.html

I see Ande hasn't yet added the setlist for that Marquee appearance in May 1988.

Here it is:

Endemoniada (Early Version)
Reanimator
Dust (Version 4 if you keep track of such things)
Moonchild (First Seal)
The Watchman
Volcane
Last Exit for the Lost
Blue Water
Phobia
Love Under Will
Chord of Souls

Encores
The Harmonica Man / Preacher Man
Power
Dawnrazor (is incomplete)

Apart from the inclusion of Volcane, the versions are the same as those on the VHS/DVD Forever Remain.

I notice that all the other dates from that tour still used 'Alpha' as the intro music. It's beginning is likely to be familiar with all Nephilim fans. So the Marquee show was intro was unique. Perhaps it was played by the venue?

Alpha was used extensively for over two years, I show 29 instances of it being used as the intro music.

Ah, that is also why I am cloudy and 'amazed' on this one...

D'oh, I have moved 3 times in the last 9 months.

Got to dig out Ande's glorious book again...

I do recall some of the intro memory now.

I think you have jolted my memory now.

I must be getting quite old lol

The intro recording is 'Alpha'!

Big thanx man.

the intro Sequence is from Vangelis the song "alpha". Interesting Cross connection: FOTN also used the intro sequence of the Song alpha at the beginning of "power"
