Should Fallen have ever been released?

you make a good point about the 'trilogy' of first songs on Fallen. they seem a thing unto themselves, and the way the songs were put togther on the album aside from these three, realy seem 'disjointed' , very unlike other FOTN releases that have a certain 'theme' or flow to the whole album. But a fitting reflection perhaps of the turmoil of those times perhaps.

It shouldn't have been released the way it was, I don't think anyone argues with that. It is what it is and not without meaning or merit. Otherwise I don't think they would have performed FTF live. I am one who foolheartedly believes things happen a certain way for a reason, especialy the seemingly misfortunate things.

Once upon a time I`ve bought Fallen

It`s not the best F.o.t.N. Album but here`s a question.
I have a look 2 or 3 times a week on ebay (Germany) for new auctions.
Sometimes there are rare items and I try to get one.
Rare items I know about their existence.
But sometimes there are items I`m feeling a little bit pranked.

Now there`s one I have the feeling again.

Take a look here

Has anybody seen that before or knows about the existence of this
Fallen Version?

The seller says "Promotional copy". But who knows what is true?

I would buy that album again. Yes I would ....

Just for my collection.

Its been up on Ebay uk aswel , i have been outbid on it a few times myself.
It just looks like the SPV promo copy .

Hi,

I know and have this one too. It's a real promo-CD, same tracks
as original one. Only one CD sheet - as the picture on ebay shows.
Slime case, normally.

Its an awful album indeed, and I remember back in 2005 when I was well into Fields (I discovered them in 2004), I bought it hoping that it might just be really excellent. When I got home I listened to it and I was shocked and so disapointed at the boring (heard it before) guitars, boring arrangments and the very very very unimaginative structures of the songs. Needless to say I brought it back to the shop the very next day.

The only good things about it are Carls vocals, and the fact that we got 'Mourning Sun' becasue of Carls falling out with Jungle etc.

I think the opening trilogy of songs is brilliant. So glad to hear they played the one song live. I realy like what was done with the version of trees come down (nightmare) on there. There a re a lot of very nice little things about it.

despite its unfinished and raw nature, even in a certain way even because of it, its a very special album to me.

that how it goes - as unpalatable prospect as it may be sometimes, somethings are just ment to be consumed raw

IMO even their worst is far far better than manys bests if you know what mean.

It is, especially if you treat it as a suite, one complex thing and not as three little separate thingies.

And I think that both Subsanity and Hollow Doll, despite the obvious unfinishedness of the latter are great as well.

Deeper and Fallen are, well, promising. Premonition, unfortunately is not at all.
