Questions about the samples on 'The Nephilim' album

Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

Questions about the samples on 'The Nephilim' album

Post by WolfLover » Thu Oct 18, 2007 11:16 pm

I've love the different samples on this album and their very evocative and amazing each time I hear them, but here are the ones I'm most curious about and if anyone could tell me where their from: :?:

The Watchman - At the very end when you hear a priest saying we commit...
Love Under Will - At the start a young is woman crying, church bells at the end and then some errie monks singing/chanting
Last Exit For The Lost - A Priest or someone at the start :?
If you pass through my soul tonight
Gather all his troubles
Tomorrow's long with eternal night
Gather for tomorrow
When I'm gone wait here
Discover all of earth's surprises
When I'm gone wait here
I'll send my child my last good smile

The first bit sounds like Bruce Wayne, and the second bit sounds like Batman.

Plot keywords;Teenager Nudity / Bare Butt / Sex Scene / Male Rear Nudity / Corporeal Mortification
Sounds blinding to me *whistle*

I have actually seen The name of the rose.I found it a bit boring-Agatha Christie with monks.

The book is a masterpiece of Gnosis, for those who can actually read between the lines... ;)

Can anyone tell me where the "Man Is So Infinately Small...Man Is So Infinately Great" sample on the Elysium album comes from?

Yep, it's Aleister Crowley reading his poem "at sea" from an album called "The great beast speaks".

from Mourning Sun

someone I know was asking on Facebook what is being said by the female voice at the very end of the track Mourning Sun? I think it's backwards and thus undecipherable to me, but I wondered if anyone knew, as all the answers seem to be here? :-)

Is there anywhere I can listen to this redition of the poem via the interweb, or do I have to track down the album?

Not sure mate. I think someone on here sent me a link to download it. Believe me it's not really worth the bother unless you like listening to a Winston Churchill sound-a-like reading 6th form poetry.

New live intro, sonic experimentation :P

If anyone could wing me over a version of it I'd be most grateful to them...

The bits before Endemoniada and Last Exit for the Lost are from The Name of the Rose. But what is the bit before Phobia? ".....do we committ?"

In addition to the film, I would recommend the book The Name of the Rose; a great read in my opinion. Better than Dan "Shite" Brown.

It used to be on sale at www.amazon.co.uk That's where I bought my copy of The Great Beast Speaks. Carl has also used The Poet during live performances of Psychonaut, especially during the 2000 gigs.
