Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
I've enjoyed reading this the only thing I can add that hasn't yet been mentioned is my hubby and his cousin used to sing along to 'Power' "The wide open stench your @rsehole"
Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
Listening and watching carefully the video of Sumerland live Philipshalle, Düsseldorf - 31/03/1991 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXPOYU3mOIE
You're tempting me
to all of hive and all its pleasure
take me to the dream
'till the heighs and the depths of my soul
here we're free thoughts inside
giving up for giving time
how lost life's been afraid of waking up
so afraid_______to take the dream
dream will come i see no heaven
dream this hard to seep for ever
nobody's here there's no one at home
thoughts all gone we dream alone
if i'm worth enough
you're my ticket here
if my world in love takes me here
we're but fools of our faze
on this earth i shall take
what is the dream
dream will come i see no heaven
came we stabbed see sleep for ever
can't break free
nobody's here there's no one at home
thoughts all gone we dream a load
we're but fools of our that fate
of this earth i shall wait
by the roots of my soul i am losing control
take the dream
sleep as the pew*
shapes of angels
so deep with the pew*
leave your sorrow drowning
unloosen your soul
drowning
drowning what is the reality
tell me what is reality
tell me what is reality
tell me
we all come down
take me here
drop of god
take me here
thoughts all gone
talk me here what dreams may come
take me here
take me there
take me
take me
we can dream together
we can stay for ever
take me here
take me there
(*)pew
Pew (1) - A bench for sitting, especially during religious proceedings
Pew (2) - An exclamation of moderate smelliness
Pew (3) - The sound a laser gun makes
Only with the third meaning of pew do I find a meaning. I take it as an attempt of hypnotization. By the mean of the order 'Sleep!'+ the music, he's inviting the listenner to focuse their attention to a pew sound, perhaps the one the guitar makes -here in the presesnt situation of the live performance? I imagine as well the sound of a sleeper's breath can do as an uncontrallable invitation to sleep the same, of course not if the sleeper snores

Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
I always got "so deep within you", your "pew" makes no sense at all in none of its meanings.so deep with the pew*
I know a lot of Carl's lyrics do make no sense as we generally mean it, but that "pew" would take things much too far

Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
I thought the lyrics were "sleepers in you"
Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
My pew? It's just the way I read it on his lips and hear it whatever weird the meaning it makes and hard to sleep on a pew. Why care for the meaning eventually? In some live times the affinity of sounds may slightly change for any temporar reason. It shouldn't matter, should it? The sleepers in you of the official lyrics from Elizyum remain..:An.nA:. wrote:I always got "so deep within you", your "pew" makes no sense at all in none of its meanings.so deep with the pew*

Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
"Constipate" instead of "Constant pain" in Blue Water every effing time!
Gargoyles rock!
Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
I'd always heard: "(be)cause (of) the pain is".goyless wrote:"Constipate" instead of "Constant pain" in Blue Water every effing time!
Too far or not too far
Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
Or maybe... "Cause the pain"? Like someone is causing the pain?
Btw, what kind of accent Carl has? I generally have hard time understanding everything british, because I imagine them sitting in front of the firplace with top hat and monocle, sipping tea from the finest china cups.

or like this
Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
Well, he is perfectly capable of speaking proper english, but in some interviews he has this horrible accent that makes it rather difficult for me to understand what he is sayingBtw, what kind of accent Carl has? I couldn't say what kind of accent it is, but I'd need to listen to him for hours to get used to it.

Does anybody have an idea what the children at the end of Vet for the Insane are singing?

We're gonna get you / Not another peep / Time to go to sleep

Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
Having been listening closely to Phobia for another thread I heard the verse as:
Disable sun entering space
It's more than just a pass around
It's melting my face
Dunno what it's supposed to be as that's all I hear now

It's only a game,
We're only here to dream.
We're only here to dream.
Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
In "The Watchman"...
"Your body falls, my body calls, what are we to do..."
I always got falls and calls the wrong way round. I genuinely thought this line was about impotence!

Fundraiser. You know, it's like Hellraiser, but without the Cenobites, the blood and all that.

Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
I am not native speaker, so I had (still have?) a lot of misheards.
I was sure that at Mourning Sun he sings something like
Waiting far from Heaven
Waiting far from your Liiiight!
Then I got CD... We didn't fall from Heaven, We didn't fall for you.
Ooops.

Re: Misheard Neph lyrics
"I run your heiffer, in another decade..." -- you know, cowboy stuff, when the Nephilim creme stops to trickle and fully curdles, like I think it finally is... (i grew up in a rodeo town in the wild west, although I don't know much about heiffers etc... that's just what I always heard.) On a related note, "Take their horses, make 'em crawl!" -- I always took that to refer to the horses not the riders... (Who cares about the riders! The horses are steaming so much you can't really make them out anyway....) ..... that's righteous! "I run your heiffer in another decade" is my single favourite Neph lyric, it just takes me there. Even moreso than the morphic oceans.....
