Blue Water - 'Electrostatic' & 'Hotwire' Mixes

Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

Blue Water - 'Electrostatic' & 'Hotwire' Mixes

Post by Elisium Fields » Mon Jul 09, 2007 2:57 pm

Back in the days when I first became aware of FOTN (and music in general to be honest), I would in most cases buy both the 7" and the 12" vinyl and then play the 7" relentlessly and put the 12" away in a PVC sleeve, usually never to be played again.

Now, as I find myself playing the completist and 'filling in the gaps' on my FOTN collection, I find myself at the 'Blue Water' part.

Although I am in possesion of the (iconic) Blue Water 12", complete with above 2 mixes, I have not played it since the day I bought it back in 1988. As I do not have a record player (since 1989) and I cannot remember these 2 mixes, can anyone here send me a pointer (in this magical age of PM's) so I can hear these 2 mixes again, this time on CD?

All help will of course be very well received and you could quite possibly make my day.

I've just been searching the forums to find out the difference between the 'electrostatic' and 'hotwire' versions of blue water 'cos they sound remarkably the same to me!!! And the only mention seems to be this thread.
Did you have any luck tracking down your cd versions?
Does anyone know if they are different, or is my 12" odd?
