Psychonaut (Lib IIII) ?

Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

Moderators: Morphic, Blue Angel, The Fallen Ones

Psychonaut (Lib IIII) ?

Post by Elisium Fields » Mon Jul 09, 2007 4:20 pm

An e-bay seller currently has for sale a FOTN CD under the name of 'Unsealed, containing a few B-sides etc. Psychonaut (lib IIII) is on the track listing!

Surely this is not right?

lib IIII is on the official CD single. Unsealed is a pirate CD.

After all this time, I thought there was only Lib I, Lib II & Lib III ! I really need to track the official CD down

Plus, I really need to purchase your book too! Thanks for sorting that out Ande.

I've heard rumours of a 25 minute version of Psychonaut.Apparently it is the only true musical representation of the golden section/ratio or some such mystical cobblers.

Still love to hear it though. *smoking*

That'll be the original mix which they condensed to 9 minutes so it could fit on Side A of the 12" vinyl

IIRC McCoy said it simply didn't exist, and that the 9min version was long enough. He also may have said that a 25min version would be useless and totally boring. :|
And when the promise was broken, I cashed in a few of my dreams

The only reason it caught my eye was because there were some b-sides on there which I only have on vinyl, and want to now have on CD or MP3.

It will be interesting to see how much it sells for.

I remember reading an editorial about it in Melody Maker or the NME, a journalist was discussing the recording session with the band, and they admitted it does exist and that Carl played the keyboards during the "jam" :D

Now my brain's having a Stephen Hawking moment trying to compute all those numbers and proccess them into a golden ratio thingy whilst at the same time working them into an equation for a fractal, those strange repeating patterns that you used to see on screens at raves that have no start or beginning.......HELP.......ME.............

According to the legend/myth/theory/whatever any tune achieving the golden ratio would prove irresistable to human ears and would,in effect be the greatest piece of music ever made.Kind of right in a way as far as I'm concerned, but the thing that worries me is that any golden ratio tune should, in theory, outsell any non golden ratio tune.
Therefore other near-as-fcuk-it golden ratio tunes must be
Everything I do I do it for you- Bryan "fcuking" Adams
Love is all around- Wet Wet "Bastard" Wet
and
Billy Jean- Micheal "White woman" Jackson

And they say the devil has all the good tunes
