New FOTN *Vinyl* reissue...

Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

New FOTN *Vinyl* reissue...

Post by Ande » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:12 pm

For those who might be interested...

Apparently Elizium is due for reissue on vinyl

Remastered? Good question. I suspect not. But be happy to find out if I guessed wrong.

When? Apparently soon(ish). Although officially licensed the release date has nothing to do with the band (which means it should happen) ;-)

Apparently (again), if it sells well, the rest might get repressed

Thanks for the info Ande. Hopefully it might also mean that all the Neph albums including 'Earth Inferno' might be re-released and remastered on CD with much better and louder volume.

Indeed. I'd even say louder == worse, listening to current "remasters" or new material, all compressed, even clipping issues... so here's hoping it's *not* remastered. If it's not loud enough, turn up the volume, everything else just costs dynamics. Part of what made Mourning Sun sound worse than previous albums, and very audibly Last Rites' Many Forms :/

@Enoch

My thoughts exactly.

I prefer dynamics over loudness, because the quality loss from the latter can't be compensated.
If it's not loud enough turn up the volume or buy decent hifi equipment *whistle*

Even when this gets released in the McCoy terms of "soon" "shortly" or whatever so why discuss about a release which isn´t calculated in a clear sight on the calendar?

lets calculate the release date with cabalistic method: :wink:

Elizium = 5 + 12 + 9 + 26 + 9 + 21 + 13 = 95
9 + 5 = 14
Release = 18 + 5 + 12 + 5 + 1 + 19 + 5 = 65
6 + 5 = 11

soonish = 19 + 15 + 15 + 14 + 9 + 19 + 8 = 99
9 + 9 = 18

so, release date will be
14.11.2018 *whistle*

thats ZOON!! *cthulhu*

I'm sorry MrB, I have to disagree
not 'soonish' but 'shortly'

shortly = 19 + 8 + 15 + 18 + 20 + 12 + 25 = 117
11 + 7 = 18
:shock: its still the same # - 2018 , you must be right after all! *cthulhu* :P :lol:

Vinyl Released since 22.8.
Elizium - MOVLP319
Fields Of The Nephilim
The English gothic rock band Fields of the Nephilim formed in 1984.
The band's name refers to a Biblical race of giants or angel-human hybrids, known as the Nephilim.
The band's seminal sound has proved highly influential, especially in the genre of gothic rock.
'Elizium', their third studio album, was originally released in 1990.
The album is considered to be one of their best, consisting of a couple of lengthy pieces that showcase their ability to write textured, loud pieces of rock that are still goth but at the same time transcend such artificial limitations to create their own sound.
The intro for the third song of the album, "At the Gates of Silent Memory", features spoken lines by Aleister Crowley.
The lines are excerpts from Crowley's poem "At Sea", recorded in 1920.

• 180 grams audiophile vinyl

As I already posted on facebook. The mixing and the sound is awesome. It now sounds the way it should have since first release.
