I think one of the reasons I love Mourning Sun so much is that it wasn't Zoon II

One of the reasons most of people love Mourning sun is that there was no new FOTN record for 15 yearsMoonchild wrote:I think one of the reasons I love Mourning Sun so much is that it wasn't Zoon II

I don't know, I always kinda thought it was a continuation of Zoon...both musically and narratively.Moonchild wrote:I think one of the reasons I love Mourning Sun so much is that it wasn't Zoon II

<smoke and mirrors excepted> they're precisely the reasons that I DO love Zoon and MS so muchwild bill buttock wrote:two of the reasons I love Smoke and mirrors, Dead pool rising and The many forms so much is because of Zoon and mourning sun
Nothing against Rippin's drumwork, as it's fantastic on both Zoon and Smoke.. but DPR has a 'hitting a cardboard box' sound all the way through it, which totaly ruins the album for me... that and the fact there's only about 2 decent songs
Re: Zoon - Ten Years on
Thank F F that, I thought I was the only one who heard that......To me MS is very much on a level with Zoon, and I find it very difficult to understand people who say they hate Zoon but love MS? There are imo a few tracks that would in no way sound out of place on the Zoon album, New Gold dawn, Requiem, Xiberia, Mourning Sun and 2525. Then of course tracks from Zoon could easily fit onto MS, Xodus, Shine, Melt, Zoon 1-2 and 3!!!!Talma wrote:I don't know, I always kinda thought it was a continuation of Zoon...both musically and narratively.Moonchild wrote:I think one of the reasons I love Mourning Sun so much is that it wasn't Zoon II

I actually thought MS was just a working title for ZOON II ......gingerpazuzu wrote: I've always thought the same thing too
... still waiting for ZOON III

Re: Zoon - Ten Years on
Fallen thing had a potential to become such - a continuation of Zoon, a combination of old and new fresh ideas with a hint of metal...
I don't think Zoon and MS could ever supplement each other... two very different animals:D

Re: Zoon - Ten Years on
I think MS has more in common with Elizium than Zoon, with it's concentration on moody soundscapes.
And , for once I'll agree with Vexed Robert, MS is a continuation of Fallen and, if you listen carefully, contains more than a few recycled riffs from Fallen.
