Lyrics transcriptions

Discuss about the albums and videos the band has released over the years. The band we are talking about here is of course F.O.T.N. and not side-projects, similar bands etc. Please use other sections if you want to talk about the weather.

Lyrics transcriptions

Post by mugabe » Mon Aug 28, 2006 7:05 pm

Are there definitive transcriptions of any albums, or even songs? "The Sequel", maybe. Most stuff you find on the net is pretty haphazard.

Well there is the OS but that went from trying to figure out what Carl was singing to trying to understand what Carl had written.

Other than that I think Rayvn would be your best source. http://www.semjaaza.com/nectar.html

That one is the bee's knees for mystical bollocks. Prime example, from "Penetration":

semjaaza.com wrote:Eternal Tyre invited me in... *

* EZEKIEL 28

God's judgment upon the prince
of Tyrus for his sacreligious
pride. A lamentation of his great
glory corrupted by sin....

12 Son of man, take up a lament-
ation upon the King of Tyrus, and
say unto him, Thus saith the Lord
God; Thou sealest up the sum, full
of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou hast been in Eden the
garden of God; every precious stone
was thy covering, the sardius, topaz,
and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx,
and the jasper, the sapphire, the
emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold:
the workmanship of thy tabrets and
of thy pipes was prepared for thee
in the day that thou wast created.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub
that covereth; and I have set thee
so: thou wast upon the holy mountain
of God; thou hast walked up and down
in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from
the day that thou wast created, till
iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchan-
dise they have filled the midst of thee
with violence, and thou hast sinned:
therefore I will cast thee as profane
out of the mountain of God: and I
will destroy thee, O covering cherub,
from the midst of the stones of fire....

This portion is said to refer to the
king or prince of Tyre, one of the
wealthiest nations of biblical times,
in the role of the Fallen One, Satan.

eternal tyre?

Sorry, folks: I know it's low, but I couldn't resist the sheer overpowering mana and the staggering mystical potence of the poetic image of eternal tyre (*spoken in an appropriately low, solemn and hoarse - or, alternatively, heavenly, rapturous and angellically high-pitched - voice*)

btw dear Tyre/tyre, if I come, could I count on a croissant or two a nice cuppa coffee?

I could do with an Eternal Tyre, actually - I probably need a new set for the Megane, it always pisses me off that they don't last forever!

still three syllables, so will do:

"Motorbike Tyre invited me in"
or perhaps "Motorbyke Tyre ynvyted me yn". Sounds so much more magickally occult, esoterically profound, and mystically mysterious this way.

yeah unfortunately that source you keep referenceing for lyrics is often very wrong. Like the 'from the fire ' ones and the eplanation of 'suns hot on my head' , actualy that line I believe is realy 'sound hammers my head' lol
I noticed differences in the lyrics from the ones that are listed on the official site too. Don't know if this was corrected or not yet.
