D&D encourages Satanism - that old chestnut again!

Post by Mark Anthony Quested » Tue Aug 02, 2011 8:12 pm

Just when I think I have seen it all, something else rears it's ugly head! Namely, this Youtube video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvV3cv10994

...have a listen and then shake your head in absolute disbelief!

Anti D&D propaganda and Christian Fundamentalist bull-shittery at its worst!

* This guy claims that D&D turned him to Satanism! (In reality, there are more refefences in the Bible to Satan than in D&D books!)
* He claims he joined a Satanic cult, which had members as young as 11 years old!
* He claims that the members were "encouraged" to have sex with each other, with children and babies!
* He claims that he would be "sacrificed" if he did not toe the line!

***BOLLOCKS!***

So he was a member of a Satanic cult involved in murder and child abuse and he did not report it to the Police?

***LYING ARSEHOLE!***

Second time lucky - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_By_Nite

Or go to Wikipedia and type in Fire By Nite in the search engine; it gives the source of this crazy video clip.

Coincidentally, a pen-pal of mine (and fellow Fields of the Nephilim fan) is currently finishing a book on popular culture and teenagers, which looks at the issues of media hysteria - http://www.bethwinegarner.com/

Beth recently set up a blog, in which she discusses "...The blog is devoted to debunking the "common wisdom" that the occult, violent video games, heavy metal music, goth culture and RPGs are turning our teens violent. My hope is that it will spark discussion, particularly among parents of teens, and act as a companion to the book."

Her blog can be found here and may interest some of you - http://backwardmessages.wordpress.com/

Incidentally, she's from a country where those who insists that all those scourges of eeeevil are turning kids violent also think they must be armed to the gills with the biggest guns there is as soon as they can walk, and preferably before…

Just sayin'…

Fundraiser. You know, it's like Hellraiser, but without the Cenobites, the blood and all that.

actualy there may be physiological factors to account for.

http://www.miller-mccune.com/culture-so ... ence-4779/

as somewhat described in the artical, fake or not, images and experiences (good and bad) generate a physiological response and cause the release of hormones and chemicals etc etc. Think about prolonged release of stress hormones and what is known about chronic stress as an underlyng factor too if this study is correct.

There is the psychological factor that everything a person experience has a complex sumbliminal and suconcious effect.
And in the same way music effects mood, images and stories can as well.

http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen ... l/782.html

It is also known now about the maliable state of the brain that its actual strucure of the brain is effected by information and expereinces. there is a special term for this, sorry cant remember what that is at the moment. But if your body is only as good as what food you put in it, what about the brain? Wouldn't most agree now about the 'brain /body connection'?
And what of the developing childs brain?

another thing to consider is that our brians did not evolve to process, realistic false images, we are the only animal to do this. Our concious mind can make rational judgments on what is 'real' and what isn't but the subconcious mind processes information but doesnt seem to function in a way that it differenciates our fabricted images from reality. Our brains mechinisms are built for survival on every level. You cant just poopoo the nature of life and biology and all of evolution, and add these artifical factors without some consequence.

What of those who believe in an esoteric way that all of reality and the universe is based soley on perception, and what you think. What about McCoys interview from so long ago that so many agree with that ritual performed will manifest in the real world. What about these types of 'rituals' through art and imagry we perform and the nature and content of them and their impact and manifestation?

and with that, these images of war, violence and horror, are we simply creating them as a response to the world we live in or are we somehow manifesting them? Or both in a sort of vicious cycle?

these are very complex subjects. Its hard to know the true impact and implications of things.

brain food for thought

You may be just sayin', but you are spot on correct sir!

Whoever said Christian Fundamentalists were rational human beings?

Christian Fundamentalists like to believe in whatever they choose to believe in. Thou Shall Not Murder when it suits then and Eye for an eye tooth for a tooth when it doesn't.

It never ceases to amaze me how many Christians are against abortion, but are for the death penalty; i.e. how they pick and choose which killing is acceptable and which isn't.

In the UK, we have a journalist called Peter Hitchens (brother of Christopher Hitchens). He is slightly right wing of Fox News, is a Christian but believes in the death penalty and gun ownership, he thinks our free national healthcare service (the NHS) is a Stalinist organisation, and thinks we need a more Conservative political party. Nice man (SARCASM)! So it is not just America who has nutty, rightwing religious nutjobs; England has its share.

I hope Peter one day comes into the Accident and Emergency dept of the hospital site where I work. I'd love to ask him, as he lies there badly injured and bleeding on the stretcher, whether or not he wants to be treated and nursed back to health by a Stalinist organisation!

To choose what to believe or to believe in what our cells are bathing that is a question.

As a roleplayer and magickian I can understand why Christian Fundamentalists are so anti role-playing games. There seems to me to be plenty of reasons. Firstly they encourage the use of the imagination and therefore by extension different ways of thinking. Indeed thinking in and of itself would be anathema to these morons! Secondly, and people have commented on the links to real magick, so I won't elucidate further only to say that you could argue that all magick employs role-play of one form or another. The loonies don't like magick 'cos it scares the bejesus out of them. Thirdly, role-playing can be good fun and of course we shouldn't be having fun should we?
