New release "breath away"
Hello my angels!
I reckon that, the new release from FOTN might be the result of McCoy's cooperation with director Richard Stanley.Dust Devils-remember? I would expect some kind of visualisation of Carl's music(new,i hope). Not just a typical video, but maybe longer thing. Greetings!

Well,I'm not that excited, cos we all know what 'breath away' might seem when it comes to Carl McCoy haha. But I'll be,when I'll grab this thing in my hands. I wouldn't expect a full new album.Considering the rytm of McCoy's work,it's simply impossible...Unreleased tracks from MS Session? Or maybe proper "Fallen"? No,I don't think so.As I said before-A bit for my ears and a bit for my eyes will satisfy me. Fingers crossed and be patient my friends

I hope in a normal-full album, and if is possible, more similar to Elyzium, even if I think that Carl McCoy has taken an other kind of street, similar to MS.
Besides I seem that in the '80 years the albums went out very quickly (1985-1987-1988-1990), I don't consider the pause between Elyzium and MS as a pause wanted only by Carl, infact it's been caused also by other factor (the split of the original line-up, the will of Carl to explore other musical FIELD).
I will hope for ever in a reunion.

I know I'm going to be very down-to-earth, but I guess the relative lack of studio output is also a consequence of McCoy growing old, being less spontaneous and maybe more demanding. Unfortunately, he thinks he has nothing else to prove and so doesn't feel the need for frequent releases. It's happened before : back in the 80s The Cure used to release one album a year, now it's more one album every 3 or 4 years. Same for David Bowie, Bob Dylan... And don't get me started on the Sissies...
The trouble is that, all things considered, McCoy got old and stopped being very productive quite early in his career.

And when the promise was broken, I cashed in a few of my dreams

Maybe it's unsubstantiated gossip, but a long time ago I read he had a heroin problem (which, as I said, I only know as hearsay, not fact). However, a drug problem or a mood disorder like depression or especially bipolar would fit the pattern of this history of cancelled announcements & constant mind-changing. I can attest to the affects of depression & mood swings.Badlander wrote:I know I'm going to be very down-to-earth, but I guess the relative lack of studio output is also a consequence of McCoy growing old, being less spontaneous and maybe more demanding. Oy, I try to avoid "identifying" with artists I admire, but my feeling about Carl is that he has a wellspring of ideas, but he has a hard time externalizing them in a collaborative setting. One could unkindly call him a "control freak", but I see him as an auteur. With the recording of Mourning Sun, he finally had complete control with all the resources at his disposal. [/i][/b]
