My friend gave me some Neph cd's to listen to a few months back and I have been completely hooked since. I can't believe I've missed out on them for so long.

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all on here and I have so much catching up to do.

Hey, I can't think of a better logo to get tattooed!
having a tee-shirt logo painted has an advantage: I can change it whenever I like which is not as easy when skin is tatooed. :wink:

Back in ’87 I read in a music magazine a short article about a band sounding (and looking) similar to Sisters of Mercy. As a SoM fan, I got curious and went into the local record store to listen to the music of that band and – strike!! *cthulhu*
I bought the Dawnrazor album a few weeks later on a school trip to England in the HMV flag store on London’s Oxford Street. Depeche Mode had an autograph session there and I was the only one carrying a FOTN album around while everyone else had DM records in their hands (Music for the Masses it was, I think).

Since I'm still relatively new here, I thought I might share my (short) story.

It was back in the summer of 2008(!) that I was wandering around the Tuska festival area, trying to figure out which band I should go and see next. Suddenly I heard beautiful, eerie music from the nearby stage. Then the band came out, with their hats and coats, covered in flour. (I've always had a thing for cowboys and the whole western style... :oops: ) I think my jaw might've dropped a bit there. Unfortunately my boyfriend wanted to go and see some other band, so I only heard a few songs from this mysterious, awesome-looking band. But it didn't matter, I was already hooked since the moment I heard those first notes of Shroud.

Hi everyone! First post & feeling the pressure...!
First heard of The Neph when a friend in work gave me a lend of the Nephilim. I remember opening up the gatefold vinyl sleeve & just thinking how cool it looked. Turned it on and was hooked! What an awesome record! Still love it as much now as then! :D :D

That would have been 20 years ago, almost! In 1991, an old friend, Simon, played me the album "The Nephilim". And I was hooked and have been ever since. "The Nephilim" is still my favourite McCoy recording, with "The Watchman" my favourite McCoy song. :mrgreen:

Nice stories everbody! Here's mine:

Summer 1989, walking through the city of Hannover (Germany), carrying a newly bought 'Disintegration' vinyl from The Cure in a plastic bag, I'm running into a friend. He looks at the bag. "What's that?" I show him. "You're listening to The Cure?" I nod. He has a goth friend so he answers "Then you might also like Fields of the Nephilim." Guess what: He was right. :D

Btw. if the bloke, whom I saw durning the gigs in Warsaw and who has his whole back tattooed with the current FotN logo, is around here: Kudos!

it was kind of you dreamed and dressed for once in a lifetime
not this time too drunk to hear how proper words of end of THAT LP came.
End of having fun. Too confused to be there and sametime;
Shall I flirt for fun of fcuk, or try to understand.
Of melody, of rhythm, to do to understand
to get under easier, both released.
