Just downloaded the 'Ritual of Fire' album from Amazon.

Its ok , bit like Astral Projection (Israeli psi-trance band) doing covers of the Nephilim. The drum beat gets slightly annoying after a while.
You can really hear Psychonaut in the 1st track " Reincarnation of the Sun " Not a surprise really.
It gets a bit chaotic in some parts , a bit to much going on .

But it is quite enjoyable , a different take if you will.

I really like psi-trance so it works for me.

Let it be known that these are not actual FOTN covers but you REALLY hear it in there.

Also i think this should probably be move to the general topic bit.
So many creatures
which one are you now
sharpening features
which one are you now .

Mmmh...

I think that the 2 album of phoenix & the oracle otherwise gone out recently play in comparison to how much written by dj_chr1st, some examples are on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTnl2x0Mt-I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnMyOSmAYIE
Surely it is not the usual one gothic-rock, surely this project is not the usual clone-band, there are tracks that have a modern beat but also elements of ritual-ambient, tribal, jazz and sure also clear references to the music of the nephilim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsZHmb4d-XI / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilpMnvkzVMQ), there are a lot of contaminations.
I think that this project is a lot difficult to musically define and the listener destabilizes because every track is different from the other.
I believe that this project is goes considered as a new run inside a scene stagnant gothic and that from too much time it doesn't have anything to say.
The esoteric language that unites phoenix & the oracle and the nephilim it is the same, probably the reference to the nephilim is him to consider in an ampler optics and not only musical, also magick.
I think there is need of new ideas to give new sap to a certain musical discourse, the music he transforms as the society transforms him, I don't think both a good thing to be closed in a sonorous enclosure today, holds both better having the open eyes toward globalization-music, open to every form of contamination (where the tecnopaganism meets the shamanism of the roots), in this direction phoenix & the oracle has great abilities in to absolutely present with something of new.
This is a serious work, not a simply band, that will be understood better probably from who has already a rooted awareness inside of itself.
Probably phoenix & the oracle wants to arrive with a precious message to an ampler public, not only inside the gothic scene, the times they are mature because this happens and who looks at this without prejudices he can understand the importance of it.

On youtube I have also found tracks of the Phoenix parallel project called Aural Phaze:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFpC0hB9lEU
music of high-level

I wish a happy new year everybody.
