But seriously. In certain way, I think you're right, mate. I mean, I don't see point to comment on the messages, cos they go hand in hand with the facts very rarely. Let's wait for the real thing

perhaps, can I remedy that?

I heard someone chanting my name earlier in this thread and it drew me back....and it seems the tempest had raged on quite well for a while!
But it looks like you need some 'seeding of the clouds'.

first off I'd like to say that , no I'm not Carl or anybody you should wonder about. I do know Richard but have only talked on the phone and email, thats it. And I'm certainly not Lavey. Btw I would also would not be proud to draw association with 'Anton' or rightly 'Howard from illinios'
he was an animal abuser and that puts a big thorn in my paw about him.

http://www.churchofsatan.org/aslv.html

and heres an interesing quote by Carl:

"Osman Spare used to be a big influence on my artwork," Carl agrees. "Especially his automatic drawing, I loved that. To others he was just a Black Magician, but he was a great artist! I mean, people from that side were drawn to the Nephilim because of it. The first time we played in the States, I had an invite from the Temple Of Set, Anton LaVey's lot, who were all great people, living an alternative lifestyle. But I always felt it was already very corny terminology, Satanism, it's just a complete joke. On the other hand, I know a couple of writers, two guys, who write stuff for their own order. They've contributed stuff to what I've done in the past and I've contributed to them. There are things going on out there, but the people I know are getting on and doing it, and not talking about it, generally."

funny to respect Spare ,whos favorite charity was an animal cause yet call Lavey and the like 'great people' , abusing animals is an 'alternative lifestyle'? *squints eyes*

You see, I've been reading this thread and taken into account the things that have been said and doing some digging. I've found plenty more contradictions. In several interview the question has been put whether or not Carl would work with ,both old band members or Richard Stanley, in which case he said no, that it would be 'going back'. No big deal people change their mind. But I've found other things. For instance...

in one interview we have this:

Carl McCoy: I think, anti-religious would be a more appropriate word for it. I do not belong to an organised religion or church. I am a shaman and have my own system of beliefs. More explications would pass the frame of this interview.

in another:

Q: Many fans consider you like a true shaman. How do you live with this legend about you?

CMC: It's complicated. Basically, it's something that we wanted, and that we encouraged, but at the same time it is caused by some wrong interpretation from the public.

Q: Some people even used to think that you were able to control rain!

CMC: Everything is possible, isn't? Actually, I didn't like all this story, this mythology around my image. At the end it was just bullshit.

hmmm is it BS or not?

And we have the more recent notice on the official site about Sheerfaith:

As some of you know Carl McCoy has worked predominately in the
field of visual presentaion, not only within Fields of the
Nephilim and The Nefilim stage persona, but also with the magickal
interpretations and graphic creations of Sheerfaith togther with
his partner Lynn, they are both the art, design and craft force
behind the enigmatic and subtle creations that not only represent
but compliment and complete all the Nephilim designs, from Burning
the Fields, Moonchild, Elizium,Zoon, Mourning Sun and all in
between above and below.

yet I've found this from a recent interview:

McCoy: I had a great number of projects with Sheer Faith in these
last years, in particular for video production. It is something
which held me in life. But Fields Of The Nephilim remains for me a
priority project with all that, and I see Sheer Faith more like an
entity associated with this intention, at least in the immediate
future.

Priority? Not a priority? it sounds like, according to the offical site that the art is priority and not the music....

and this from a 2006 interview:

"In the past there have been times when I felt that having one
strong partner to work with, who believed in the whole thing as
much as myself, might have been a strength, but I've been working
on my own for too long now"

huh? partner? no partner? what?

bs? not bs? one might think they do follow laveys philosophy.
Ive found many such inconsistancies certainly. One thing that seems to be consistant is that ,through Carls career he has been plagued by bad management and various snafus. I read about how the tour that was original booked back in the fall of 2006 was canceled because some how Carl didn't know about it. WTF? The management company never sent him an email or a phone call about it? huh? what? It doesnt make sence. Who ever is handling his personal afairs must be clueless. to just jump the track here a bit, but sort of on this subject yet another industry horror story, I was just discusing one sad sinario with a friend of mine, whilst her boyfriend was on tour, the person running his website and private afrairs had designs on him and went out of her way to block all of my friends emails as well as others and tryed to sabotage his career to get him away from it etc etc. But then I guess this sort of things goes on in all walks of life, my brothers wife got herself intentional pregenant so he wouldn't leave her, but I degress...

The fact that the website is not run properly is certainly a cause for grievence , but it happens. I did notice the thing about 'Sleepers' being given a prospective March release, and if they anounce that IMO they should have also just put a quick note , no lengthy explanations needed, that the project had fallen through.

At anyrate, there seems to be something 'rotten in denmark' and an undercurrent of mismanagment and problems, whether from without or within. If the interviews alone, are an indication (though its so hard to judge by them , they are interperated and translated by the interviewer and thing in this too can get misconstrued) Carl is likely one confused individual...

Carl McCoy: "It's hard work, but if you're honest with yourself, then it's the right way, even if it might be seen to be the dark path. I spend
my life becoming me. Not trying to find me. That's different.
Sometimes I get tripped up on the way, simply for doing what I do.
And that's the hardest trip of all, but it works for me. This is
True Chaos of the Normal."

eh? umm, hows IS that workin for ya hon??

And I can understand everyones confusion and frustration, it certainly gives one cause to turn tail and run.
