The Nephilim - 20th Anniversary

Post by Blue Angel » Fri Mar 06, 2009 1:58 pm

Yeah, yeah, I know it was last September...

But I'm just thinking... did we (as in the forum) miss the anniversary? Was nothing said?

a re-release would be awesome. remastered, outtakes, etc. Would be great for us and bring some money into the pockets of the boys.

I usually hate it when bands do that, as it is almost always money-grubbing at the expense of the fans. There are a few exceptions, though. Skinny Puppy re-released a couple older discs, and the sound improvement is amazing.
I'd buy The Nephilim in a heartbeat.

That would be indeed awesome as other people have said. I had to beef up the volume of my Nephilim albums because they were AAD which is way too low volume for me. I don'nt know why Beggars Banquet have'nt remastered them yet, because as everyone knows, they are classics.
If you pass through my soul tonight
Gather all his troubles
Tomorrow's long with eternal night
Gather for tomorrow
When I'm gone wait here
Discover all of earth's surprises
When I'm gone wait here
I'll send my child my last good smile

The Watchman, Moonchild and Last Exit for the Lost.
Three keys to achieve and to capture the core of this album.
A classic, a masterpiece *notworthy*

Exactly. And with all the publicity of Mourning Sun there should be a bigger audience than ever.

I'd like to special order one without Shiva, though. 8)

I'll have one of those, I can live without Phobia too, but I'd be grateful for any kind of re-issue. I already own it on 3 formats, but I'd buy it again.

I like Shiva, I don't understand why it's a song so "hated". Very dark, great atmosphere.
And then Shiva has a particular rule in the album, IMHO, it breaks the first part, more violent and direct and it introduces the second part, more quiet and soft. Shiva works and sound good.

Phobia instead doesn't like me. The worst Nephilim song again Power for me.

I like them both very much, though Shiva does break the flow of the whole, IMHO. A great b-side, though.

Power is neat, too :)

Btw, we've said all that before. Many times.
