Band Introduction: BLACKLIST (Post Punk / Guitar Wave | NYC)

Here within you discuss about the side-projects, i.e. the bands that has something to do with F.O.T.N. and doesn't include Carl McCoy on vocals.

Band Introduction: BLACKLIST (Post Punk / Guitar Wave | NYC)

Post by Ian P. Christ » Mon Aug 10, 2009 2:11 am

Hey Folks,

sorry if this sounds a bit too much of a promotional posting, but if you haven't heard about the band BLACKLIST from New York, you really should check them out!

IMHO, these guys are the best thing in the Post Punk / Guitar Wave / Melodic Goth Rock genre that surfaced since a decade (at least).

BLACKLIST just released their debut album "Midnight Of The Century" (produced by Ed Buller, Ex-PSYCHEDELIC FURS, producer of WHITE LIES, SUEDE and PULP) with 11 songs that combine the best moments of bands like THE CHAMELEONS, THE CHURCH, THE MISSION, (early) THE CULT, early U2, THE SOUND, THE COMSAT ANGELS and THE SISTERS OF MERCY.

I'm an addicted fan since their first demo and I'm looking forward to hear what's your opinion about the band.

Here are some free (and legal) downloads for your listening pleasure:

Blue Shifted (From the EP "Solidaire" - 2007)
Language Of The Living Dead (From the EP "Blacklist" - 2005)
Exit (From the EP "Blacklist" - 2005)
Dawn Of The Idols (From the EP "Blacklist" - 2005)

Apart from being an addicted fan, I'm also hosting the european live debut of BLACKLIST on Friday, October 2nd in Berlin. This will be the only gig in Germany and one of only two gigs in Europe at all.

All info on that event here: remembrance-daze.com

Cheers

Pretty good. Definitely at the more mainstream/melodic end of the market (think Rose of Avalanche). I assume that this should actually be in the general section rather than being an actual Nephs offshoot?

Hmm... actually rather good, from the snippets I've heard. Will investigate further.

They sound very good. I was quite impressed with those downloads as well. I may investigate them further. :D
