Waking the dead Preorder Relase Nov24th

Guess this band doesn't need any closer presentation. If you don't know of them (shame on you) you should check them out immediately. They play live on a regular basis and release records.

Any thoughts from those who bought the album?

I'm having an extremely difficult time finding any reviews of this online.

FYI, "Return to Dust" is up on Reverbnation: http://www.reverbnation.com/nfduk/song/ ... rn-to-dust

It's OK. I am happy to accept that my disappointment is entirely based on there not being a new Light My Way or When The Sun Dies. But I can't say it's great because I was really expecting there to be something that amazing.

Well difficult to say something else
Lost Souls, Dead Pool´s great Songs LMW, Caged, One Monent, Senseless, Dead Pool, Deeper Visions WTSD, Let it rain, Senses Alive and Reformations are classes of their own
Waking the dead is long waited and quite good but i´m missing the point on the i like above mentioned

Sorry, but seems to me that it´s the last cd and all the stuff since 2009 is released to make an end, its good handmade music but the small thing that makes it so special and extraordinary like the others is missing

Don´t understand my words wrong, it only shows how spoilt we were during the last releases with great music and unforgettable life perfomances
And because of that you have to buy it, to show that you take your hat off to Bob, Chris, Steve, Tony, Simon, Luca, saying "BIG Thank You" for great music und some moments between us
Looking forward to the next gig or cd

Thank you all

11.12. 2 or 3 things I forgot to mention
Waking The Dead also never left my turntable since it arrived and the song itself is quite good and some others are earworms too
Forgot to add So Let It Begin to my favourite´s list ;-)

I was very very excited when I heard NFD has a new album out. I heard just the last instrumental track on youtube and nothing else. I decided to chance buying the album on amazon, and I received it about a week later. I've listened to it twice so far and I have to say it's just really fantastic. The vocals are great as usual and also what I like about a lot is the guitar riffs/playing is a lot more intricate and even more interesting. I know it has no immediate songs like 'Light My Way, One Moment Between us, When the Sun Dies etc, but the songs are all very strong.

I also love the way some songs start off quite slow and eerily and then build up to a climax. The first song is excellent and the longest NFD have ever done apart from 'Break The Silence'. At first when I listened to it the chorus repeated a few times, and then goes into some great extended guitar and instrumental sections. Definitely a standout song for me. A lot of the other songs a really really interesting especially 'Spiral, Let You Fall, The Great Divide, Return to Dust and of course The Silence Of The Angels'. So I would very highly recommend it. So whats other peoples opinion of this album?

Did you write that review that is in english? If so, it's a really great review. Definitely a fantastic album. I just hope that NFD don't do an Elusive, Sisters of Mercy and Fields (first three albums), and then call it quits after just three albums. *cthulhu*

I bought the CD. Listened to it a few times.

It's... ehh... I find it to be a bit dry & flat-sounding, lacking the atmospheric, hypnotic & dynamic sound that pre-Reformations NFD possesses. It's a decent album but it sounds, for lack of a better word, unfinished. Like it would have greatly benefited from outside collaboration or a few more passes at recording & mixing.

I'd give it 3/5 at this moment in time. Decent musically but lacking that sense of vitality found on the pre-Reformations albums.

Blimus, are we listening to the same piece of work?!

From what I can hear, production values appear much enhanced in comparison to earlier pre Reformations work-and really the quality of instrumentation sounds and their seperation in the mix, seem very clearly far superior to anything that went out under the NFD name before...

Still, that's the beauty of music's subjectivity aint it!..

Are you a band member or a girlfriend of the band?
Google results for reviews on the new album and this is top of the pile...

I am inclined to agree with Stranger and whilst the music has the correct elements in the correct places and is presumed mathematically correct it sounds pieced together, drums then guitars then vocols but not a cohesive aural picture eminating from the speakers. Methodically put together as opposed to a band finding their way through the process.

First album with Rippin and Carey et al - *notworthy* Sublime!
