NFD

Guess this band doesn't need any closer presentation. If you don't know of them (shame on you) you should check them out immediately. They play live on a regular basis and release records.

Get to these shows. You won't be disappointed!

Support act were on form as well.
It was good to see at least one of the support band making an effort in the wardrobe department. *whistle* :D I think the other 2 need to take a leaf out of your book.

Nearly fell off my chair when Ed offered free postage to anyone pre-ordering the new CD. :D

Great gig by both bands *notworthy* see you in Mexborough.

I hope so, but according to the Notts bootleg they didn't at that gig(Neither did they play 2 of my faves from Dead pool rising-"Rise" and "Dead pool") but as long as we get "One moment between us" and "Psychonaut" I'll come away a happy man.

Bob said after the Nottingham gig that they don't play "Rise" live. I think he said that they didn't think it'd go down well (don't quote me on that as I can remember the chat, but not much of the content *whistle* )

Keep shouting for it and they might get the message

They've changed it now but the rock cafe are very good at this sort of thing,I dragged myself across the black country a few years ago thinking I was going to see Hawkwind and ended up seeing Huw Lloyd Langton instead .
Yes it's amazing what you can see at this place. Coming soon we have Johnny Cash, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Gun'n'Roses, Kiss, AC/DC and Bon Jovi! For as little as £8! What bargains! What's even more amazing is that some of these people are dead! How do they do it???

Seriously though, does anyone know what time the NFD thing starts? The website, while promising much, is a bit short on practical information such as what time to get there for...

[Quick edit]Wild bill, I think Blue Angel has arranged for us to meet you, so we'll be there early... just wondering how early is early... but I'm sure he has a plan, which I'll find out when he gets back from seeing NFD in Leeds (talk about life in the fast lane!)

So see you there, wherever/whenever that might be...

Grebo - just seen your post in the other thread about meeting in the Mitre. If you're local and you think it's a good place, that's good enough for me!

Sounds fun!

I guess nothing is likely to start before about 7-8pm? If you guys want to suggest a time, I'm sure me and Blue Angel can arrange to be there....

ok they're a bit copycat, but they're far by best offshoot to come out of the neph stable

for me, they're better than the real thing these days

nfd use a more traditional song-writing model (much like the sisters used to do) where the song kicks in straight away, with a memorable guitar hook and a decent chorus

they arent afraid to belt out a great tune and dont feel the need to hide it behind a 10 minute intro and a 5 minute outro

they're great live, and really nice guys.

(....)

I agree with Quiff Boy. Last year, I saw them live in Germany and they really rock! :)

I’m probably going to get pilloried for this, but I’m sorry, they failed to set my soul alight. Maybe the Slimelight gig was an off-night, but I expected far more of them live. :(
People on this forum have really built them up but while I saw a very competent gig it had no real sparkle. Yeah, they write some decent tunes and, more importantly do it on a regular basis, but I’m not won over yet.
